San Fransisco will pay criminals not to shoot people.

Democrats have once again used their vivid imaginations to solve a growing crisis. In October, San Fransisco will begin a pilot program which will offer people who are at a “high risk” of shooting someone $300 a month. In return, those people will promise to avoid violence.

The program is intended to help curb the surge in violent crimes and gun violence in the city, and the $120 million needed to pay for the program will betaken from the city’s law enforcement budget. It is believed that by taking money away from law enforcement and giving it to violent offenders, violent crime in the city will go down.

Sheryl Davis, the executive director of the Human Rights Commission described program as a small investment which can not only “transform the lives of individuals , but they can also transform communities.”

She went on to explain, “It’s not necessarily as cut and dry as folks may think. It’s not as transactional as, ‘Here’s a few dollars so that you don’t do something bad,’ but it really is about how you help us improve public safety in the neighborhood.”

People deemed at risk of committing acts of violence who wish to participate will serve as “community ambassadors” and will be assigned life coaches, and can earn an additional $200 a month by doing things like having a job, going to school, or being a mediator in potentially violent situations.

positive results.

This program comes on the heals of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s attempts to solve California’s growing drug problem by paying people to stay sober. Gov Newsom is currently petitioning the federal government for permission to use Medicaid funds to pay for his program.
