Perspective

Remember the outrage last year over Trump wanting to visit historic St John’s Church in June of 2020 after rioters attempted to burn it down during a weekend of violent protests?

Thousands of protestors tore down fences and blockades, shattered windows, set countless fires, and dozens of police were injured by bricks, rocks, frozen water bottles, and other projectiles, all across the city. And Trump was crucified for pushing back “innocent” protestors so he could walk down to the church- for a photo op.

Yet those same people who raged against Trump for wanting to walk down the street safely see nothing wrong with bring in THOUSANDS of armed soldiers, shut down and sealing off downtown DC, and restrict public access for weeks, in response to one violent protest that lasted a few hours and included a few hundred protestors.

They believe that pushing back a crowd for a few hours after a weekend of extreme violence committed by thousands is far worse violation of the rights of citizens than locking down the capital city for weeks using tens of thousands of armed soldiers, imposing curfews, and restricting public access to public areas, because of one violent protest that lasted a few hours and included a couple hundred people.

THAT is what I call perspective.
